Celebrating National Creative Economy Day with Art and Purpose
In celebration of National Creative Economy Day, Rajut Nusa joined the “Ngawiti” Art Exhibition at the Nganjuk Creative Hub — a vibrant showcase of how creativity and collaboration shape Indonesia’s growing creative economy.
The word Ngawiti, meaning “a step to start”, reflects the exhibition’s purpose: to spark art awareness and strengthen the creative ecosystem in Nganjuk. It symbolizes how local artists celebrate their roots while embracing a global mindset and modern artistic vision.
Curated by the Nganjuk Creative Team, Ngawiti brought together talented artists from Nganjuk to Yogyakarta, each contributing artwork that represents courage, experimentation, and the start of new creative journeys..
Rajut Nusa’s “Plastic Earth”: Art from Waste, Hope for the Planet
For Rajut Nusa, this exhibition marked its first step into the art world. The brand introduced an installation titled “Plastic Earth”, a piece that transforms discarded plastic bags into a crocheted representation of our planet.
Through this artwork, Rajut Nusa explores the paradox of beauty and waste — the Earth’s elegance, reimagined through the very materials that threaten it. Each crocheted layer represents how human consumption reshapes our environment and how creativity can turn waste into awareness.
“Plastic Earth” reflects Rajut Nusa’s ongoing mission to promote sustainability through craft. The brand invites viewers to see plastic not as trash, but as a reminder of responsibility — to care, to protect, and to take action for the planet.

PBuilding a Sustainable Art Ecosystem
The exhibition was attended by representatives from the Department of Youth, Sports, Culture, and Tourism (Dinas PORABUDPAR) of Nganjuk, members of the Creative Economy (Ekraf) Community, and Commission 4 of the Nganjuk Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).
Their presence reinforced how art and culture contribute to regional development, inspiring collaboration between local governments, artists, and creative entrepreneurs.
“Ngawiti” served not only as an art exhibition but also as a platform for connection — showing that creativity grows strongest when rooted in community and openness to innovation.lastic Earth: Rajut Nusa’s First Step in Art Exhibition

Creativity, Community, and Conscious Action
For Rajut Nusa, Ngawiti is more than an exhibition — it’s a statement of purpose. By presenting Plastic Earth, Rajut Nusa affirms its belief that art can be both aesthetic and meaningful, bridging creativity with environmental responsibility.
Every stitch in the artwork represents care — for the planet, for people, and for progress. It’s a reminder that every creative act, no matter how small, can be a step toward awareness, collaboration, and a sustainable future.
“Ngawiti” serves as a celebration of art awareness and collaboration, highlighting the role of local creatives in shaping an inclusive and forward-looking art ecosystem.
For Rajut Nusa, this participation represents not only a milestone in artistic expression but also a reaffirmation of its belief that creativity and community spirit are essential in creating meaningful change — one step, one stitch, and one artwork at a time.
